North Side Youth Football Program Overview

 

 

North Side Youth Football offers an appropriate place to play football for all players between the ages of 5 and 14.  NSYF is a member organization of TCYFL - the largest independent youth football league in America.  Our participation in TCYFL assures us that we are giving our players the highest chance of having a positive experience in an appropriate setting. 

 

 

TCYFL is an age- and weight-based football league for kids between the ages of 5 and 14.  Teams will compete in The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL) as the North Side Titans. TCYFL is the largest independent youth football league in the U.S.  All players who wish to participate, and are willing to meet the player commitments (for example, practice and game attendance) will be placed on the appropriate teams.  If you have a question or concern about what level your child will play at, please  send an email to mlohman1@aol.com.  Teams are created to maximize playing time for all players.  Practices start in early August.  We are able to add players until September 5th, but all players must meet minimum practice requirements before participating in games. The regular season begins late August and runs through October.  Playoffs are in the first two weeks of November.  The 2017 age/weight guidelines are as follow:

Notes:

Maximum Unrestricted Weight means maximum weight to run the ball

Maximum Striper Weight means maximum weight to play for a particular age, Unrestricted Weight determines whether a player is eligible to run with a ball

*1. The Maximum Weights are effective for Week 1.  All weight limits for each level will increase by one-half pound per week the entire season, including any playoff games.  The Maximum Weights include minimum of shirt, football pants with pads or football pants with girdle if girdle is worn for the game.

*2.  Player age as of September 1.  Player cannot be enrolled in high school

*3. "Younger/Heavier Exception - Double Striper" players must be approved prior to game play by the TCYFL

*4. Must be younger to be a heavier exception striper
